Top iPad Apps

Here are the apps that I use the most:

Pandora for iPad: This is a must for finding new music based on the tunes you already like. Create a station based on a song, genre, or band and off you go. Make multiple stations and you can use the mix feature to create your own blend. Free

Twitteriffic for iPad: good full screen Twitter app. Easy to use. Free

Safari: built in web browser. No flash or java is sometimes a pain but sites are changing quickly to catch up. Facebook works well on the web without a native client yet for the iPad. Built in.

Twit for iPad: cool client app that streams live podcasts from twit.tv ANC gives you access to their IRC chat channel along with the production schedule. Only $0.99.

I am still looking for new apps and keep trying new ones as they become available. Got ideas for new ones to try? Leave a comment.

We have successfully migrated from the FTP posting service to the custom domain service from the folks over at Blogger. I am now doing posts from the iPad. I have had it for a week and it works great. Waiting for the apps to support it has been the most difficult part. I use the iPad just like any other computer: browsing the web, watching Netflix shows and movies, posting tweets via Twitteriffic, listening to music via Pandora or iPod functions. I keep it on my lap and in landscape mode the most. The interesting part of the base install is that Apple did not include iBooks by default, it had to be installed from ten app store after the first sync to the computer. iPhone apps work well on the device but are not aware of the new screen size.. There is a 2x button that gives you a supersized view of the application but it is very pixelated. Battery life is amazing. I am getting between 14 and 16 hours with moderate usage. It does drop fast when streaming video but still well over the 10 hours that Apple promised. I am definitely happy with my purchase. I think I will be looking for a case of some sort before traveling with it and a dock to be able to use it as a picture frame will be cool.
