Still going strong
It's me again and I am still out here. It's been a busy few weeks since I last wrote. Work has picked up to being six days a week again and when I'm not working, I'm trying to learn more about being a homeschooling parent and assist in the learning process as much as I can. We had a good weekend. Saturday we finally purchased our membership to the Zoo. We spent the day walking around, seeing animals such as the primates, birds of prey, and the manatee. There was a beautiful Bald Eagle at our Zoo and I was in awe with it's spectacular up close view. We had hoped they had her ready for the bird of prey show but they are retraining her to fly new patterns and do new tricks. Next time we'll be able to see it for sure.
Sunday was a bit more relaxing around the house. After working four hours in the wee hours of the morning, I had interrupted sleep but was in bed until almost noon. After getting nourishment and feeling awake, I spent time with the kids and focused on making it another good day. First our five year old wanted to play a game of Monopoly. Don't let her age fool you, she is a smart one and she skunked my wife and I in a 2 hour game. Not bad for a child that our local school system wouldn't make an exception for to start kindergarten this year. Their loss and our gain as she is blossomming more and more each day as we grow together in our homeschool environment. After our game, my daughter and I made cheese stuffed Manicotti and breadsticks for dinner. While she helped me make dinner, I told her of the one lesson I have grown to live by in my life. If you don't strive to learn something new everyday, you're not taking the time to live life to it's fullest. Try it, you'll be amazed at the world of opportunity that is out there waiting for you and it doesn't matter what your age is, you just need to take advantage and give it a try.
