The government is giving up on Net Neutrality. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) is abandoning its policy to protect the right of fair Internet for the people. This means that the telecomm industry will be free to charge "priority and usage fees" for website traffic that is traversing their networks. This is another block in the road for the end user. What happens when they start charging higher fees to Google, CNN, MSNBC, and Yahoo!? Are we going to get news that is censored even more than it already is? Do you really want to get news from the highest bidder? What happens when sites like Digg and Reddit get cut off because they refuse to pay the high surcharge to the broadband companies? It's not a pretty picture. Don't let this happen to us. Call your local congresscritters and senate drones and tell them that we need to protect the right of the Internet for the people.
